Celebrate the Center’s 500 acres of rustic woodland beauty at the Tröegs Rugged Trail Run for Conservation! The Center is thrilled to partner with Tröegs Brewing Company for this exciting event! This year’s proceeds will directly help support funding for our new outdoor play area opening spring of 2018!
This race is open to all ages, and prizes will be given to the top male and female runners in each age group. Click here to see the results of last year’s race!

Last show of the season! Shotgunn got its start in the 1970s, playing gigs all over the Lykens Valley. They reunited in the early 2000s, playing benefit concerts for organizations all over the place. Shotgunn plays rock and funk hits from the ’60s and ’70s. Some crowd favorites include “Soul Man,” “Smoke on the Water” and “Sweet Home Alabama.”
Food will be available for purchase from Max’s Bar and Grill.

Saturday, October 14: Fall Family Fun Day
Join the Ned Smith Center and its partners for an awesome autumn afternoon. This annual event increases awareness of the natural world with many activities for children and families, including a live animal presentation. Fall frolickers can also visit the pumpkin patch, create fall decorations at the “Art Creation Stations,” and try their skills at a round of Pumpkin Bowling.

Saturday, November 11: The Popcorn Hat Players present Little Red Riding Hood
The Popcorn Hat Players have been entertaining children and their families since 1993, bringing fairy tales, folk tales and fables to new audiences every year. Using creative comedy and improvisation, the Players write original adaptations and breathe new life into unforgettable stories. This performance is sure to captivate fairy tale lovers of all ages.
